Carnival of the Vanities # 245: The Return

Okay, go ahead and say it. I know, I’m a few weeks late with this particular episode of the Carnival of the Vanities. I am happy to announce that a.) I’m back in action and b.) even though I haven’t put up an edition of CoTV in three weeks, the hard core of carny regulars are still submitting material every day. Good for you guys. Because you’ve been so patient with me, I’m putting up everything that’s been missed in the last few weeks. I also can’t promise that this won’t happen again in the future as my schedule becomes even more hectic and my energy level declines exponentially.

Where’ve I been, you ask? (Or maybe you don’t ask. I’m telling anyway.) Well, I spent five days in Hilton Head around Memorial Day weekend. One of my roommates for that particular vacation happened to be carrying a bacterial infection that had morphed into conjunctivitis. That’s highly contagious “pink eye” to those out there keeping score. Three folks on the trip came down with the contagion, including myself. I am just now finishing off the last effects of the disease.

That’s no excuse, of course. Being sick only gives you more time to blog. It just leaves you with less energy to do so. So I didn’t.

But I’m back and we can put all that behind us. Patch things up and try one more time, right?

Right.

Now on with the show!
