When I first head of the mine explosion in West Virginia, I remember thinking it would be a miracle if even one of the miners made it out alive. I know many people, including myself, were hoping and praying for that miracle.
I know that there is a lot of grief and rage in West Virginia right now over the way things happened, but I at least am thankful for one miracle.
I don’t know where I read this last week, but there was much griping from IE developers about the death of IE for the Mac and the comparative lack of functionality in IE for Windows. Microsoft spent an awful lot of money basically putting Netscape out of business only to let market-share go to Firefox.
Today, I found out that a new Firefox extension is going to hit the market, AllPeers. It’s basically a buddy list that allows you to download selected files from your buddy’s PC, much like a limited file-sharing program. You can easily share photos, videos, sound files (music), etc.
If IE doesn’t step on the gas as far as development, this may be the “killer app” that relegates it to the dust-bin of history, or at least to second place in terms of market-share.
