That Controversial 13th Amendment
The Thirteenth Amendment, the constitutional amendment outlawing slavery, was defeated upon first consideration in the House of Representatives. And this was done by representatives of supposedly free and loyal states, most of whom opposed slavery.

Black/White Genocide?
It doesn’t seem plausible to me that white Afrikaners who had fought all their lives against the ANC would just roll over and let another Rwanda massacre happen.

Random Thoughts
Canada is doomed, doomed I tell you. First the multi-cultis running the joint made the country safe for Jew-bashing riots. Now, they are doing everything they can to bust my Cherry.

Osama Supports Democrats??
It would seem to me that if they want to prove that they are “the religion of peace”, maybe they should be more pro-active in removing the extremists. Instead of reading how the FBI busted up a terrorist ring, maybe we should be reading how a terrorist ring was busted up thanks the efforts of the local muslim community.

Just wondering–does it make me a Democrat or a Republican if I welcome the new French law banning headscarves because it makes that country more likely to suffer a terror attack, probably causing it to align it more closely with the U.S. in the War on Terror afterwards?

We three persons of indeterminate gender from the Eastern Asian Landmass are,
Bearing winter holiday shoebox gifts with no toy guns or sweets in them we traverse afar,
Field and fountain, moor, no we don’t mean Moor as in a black man but rather moor in the sense of a broad area of open land, often high but poorly drained, with patches of heath and peat bogs, and mountain,
Following yonder possible comet or perhaps a nova.

Chorus:
O, comet or nova of wonder, comet or nova of might (which doesn’t make right!),
Comet or nova with repressive and obsolete political system beauty bright,
Westward after consulting with various international bodies for permission leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to the perfect–though we know in our hearts that such a thing truly cannot exist–light.

Update: I can feel the Muse! Because I have her blindfolded and tied up in the basement!

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed
The little lord Jesus lay down his sweet head.
He’d caught hantavirus, from dried rat feces.
And died in the morning, of a cough and a wheeze.

You know, if I were a black student at CU-Boulder, instead of crying “racism,” I think I would buy a bunch of cookies at twenty-five cents each and resell them to passers-by for fifty.

Hell, I could put on a nametag proclaiming myself to be Archer Daniels Midland, and make another point entirely.

Plus, there’s that phat 100% profit on each cookie.

When editing the /etc/nsswitch.conf file on a production machine during the busiest time of the day, be sure not to replace “passwd: files” with “passwd: filesn.”

Otherwise the ncsd process dies, all the logins fail, including root’s, a break/sync must be sent from the console, and the machine has to be booted into single-user mode to fix the problem.

Also, people gather round your desk and make fun of you.

Tip: If all the above does occur, a ctrl-D will return the server to run level3 from single-user mode once you’ve removed the extra “n” from the /etc/nsswitch.conf
